The government released this year's Budget on 18 February 2011. This year's budget aims to tackle rising costs and strengthen society, with Finance Minister Tharman Shanmugaratnam has announced $6.6 billion worth of Budget goodies, a bonanza for the people and the most generous Budget in recent years. What are the benefits that have been unveiled, who are the beneficiaries and what do various sections of society have to say about the government's bumper crop? Threads have been launched on the Discussion Forum, where you can air your views and participate in an exciting debate between your schoolmates as well as the Current Affairs team. Pick any of the questions posed, post a response and start a debate about the Budget!

There are prizes and Credit Points waiting to be won! The best entries on the forum will also walk away with book vouchers!

This competition started on Wednesday 23 February and closed on Wednesday 16 March.

Prizes for Discussion Forum Competition

Prizes will be awarded to the top 3 entries of students from each level (Sec 1 to Sec 4).

1st Prize: $30 book voucher
2nd Prize: $20 book voucher
3rd Prize: $15 book voucher

All well-written entries will also be awarded with Credit Points for English Language / Language Arts or Integrated Humanities. Up to 3 CPs can be awarded for participation in this competition.

When typing your entry on the DIscussion Forum, please state your name and class so that we can credit you with the CPs when issued to you!
