Introduction of issue

Singapore has been trying to boost her art scene and make herself her vibrant place for the arts. The National Arts Council, the Singapore Arts Festival, along with art museums and theaters are initiatives brought forward by the government to introduce the arts to the Singaporean population. World-class dance performances, art exhibitions, theater productions, have been held in Singapore. Furthermore, there have been an increasing number of local artistes producing art productions that have struck a chord with the Singaporean population and have been very popular in the region. An example would be Dick Lee, who has produced a well-known theatre production titled "Fried Rice Paradise".

What do you make of the government's various attempts and investments to make Singapore a country with a vibrant arts culture?
